Rishikesh

Rishikesh is very popular pilgrimage destination in Uttarakhand state. It is also one of the tranquil sites for pilgrims. The town is located in the foot of the Garhwal region. There are utmost known shrines as Kedarnathji, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri which also makes char dham. The pilgrims, rishies, and munies visit these sites mostly. The tourists also reach Rishikesh during their vacation time for the self satisfaction. The town is situated at a distance of 24 kilo meter from the sacred city Haridwar.

Rishikesh is also known as the Land of God in Uttarakhand state. It is surrounded by the natural vegetation and scenic beauty of Himalaya. The sacred river Ganga flows here touching the Rishikesh. Spiritually the site is sacred, because it is said that, at this site meditation is done to get the salvation. There are several beautiful and attracted high peaks and streams that make the city more elegant and significant.

Rishikesh also very significant as a place of water rafting, treks and hikes in the beautiful region of mighty Himalayas. In Rishikesh, there are many well known Yoga canters where people come to learn yoga all over India. The town is elevated at a height of 1360 feet above the sea level. It is the site where Lord Vishnu crushed the demon madhu. It is also believed that several sages performed their self-mortification. All these happenings make this site sacred.
